The Seabird Centre is a privately run family business, and we are proud of our heritage that has developed with Dennis Harrison who brings over 45 years experience in dealing with: the Public, Commercial marine and Coastal chartering, always maintaining a profesional outlook to give the very best to visitors and local customers.
RSPB licensed: we are fully licensed by the RSPB, and offer a professional information and booking service to Visitors, Birdwatchers, Photographers and Wildlife enthusiasts.
Reserve support: we are providing the RSPB Coquet Island reserve with a year round total backup service, supplying and maintaining the needs of the reserve and its wardens, with our own charter boat, the powerfull Catamaran SHOKWAVE.

Boat trips and Live CCTV:
A gateway to coastal adventures and the Coquet Island nature reserve, offering an even better opportunity in which to view the birds on the Coquet Island reserve through Live CCTV images, and the oppertunity to take a boat trip to the island reserve on our own modern and powerfull Catamaran - SHOKWAVE.
CCTV images are beamed back to the Centre from the camera system one mile out to sea on the island reserve, and show up to the minute activities as they happen with no disturbance to the birds or their young at the nesting sites.
Northumberland seabird centre is the only place in Europe and the UK were visitors can view on live CCTV the most endangered uk seabird, the ROSEATE tern.
Coffee shop refreshments: Start your visit and adventure with the delights of our coffee shop facility, where we are serving outstanding flavours of freshly ground Fair Trade coffee, teas and hot chocolate, sandwiches and cakes.
2010 Season appiontment: RSPB Date with nature recruitment centre. Join the RSPB at the seabird centre and recieve a voucher for a Free boat trip to the Coquet island reserve.
RSPB OPTICS: Binoculars and Scopes will shortly be available to purchase. Visitors and new members will be able to try these out before purchasing on the new viewing platform on the quay side outside the centre, here there are many visiting estuary birds to focus on.
Binocular Hire: This service is avalable for all visitors to the centre wishing to view the birds and wildlife in the area. Maybe from the river bank in the estuary, Or when walking in the surrounding countryside,and wild life parks. Maybe you are just takeing a boat trip to the Coquet Island reserve,or the longer Coastal Trips, there are cliff sites that are best viewed with binoculars, Hire may be for a Half day - Full day or By the Hour. Please ask for details at the reception.

The Roseate tern is one of the rarest nesting seabirds in Great Britain and RSPB Coquet Island nature reserve is the sole UK stronghold for these very special seabirds.
